4/5/26 Update

Updated: Apr 6

Some updates for today!

Ankush was on the surgery schedule, but the doctors have decided to pause for now to give him the best possible chance at recovery. Some of the immunotherapy medications he was taking could interfere with healing, so those are being adjusted. He also needs to be a bit more coherent, and the steroids appear to be helping with that. At this point, surgery is still expected to take place within the next week or so.

With the surgery postponed, the hope is that he’ll be discharged from the hospital within the next day or two. Instead of returning home, the plan is for him to transition to a rehabilitation facility, which will provide the level of care he needs and be the best option for both he and Ellie.

There isn’t a plan to allow visitors anytime soon. Ellie and Ankush deserve as much uninterrupted time together as possible, and they don’t need us getting in the way. 🙂

Separately, the 'supportnow' page is now available for you to donate to this: Support The Gillys | SupportNow.org

(Please also note that weekly mowing signups have been added to the 'supportnow' site: www.supportnow.org/the-gillys/needs

We truly can’t emphasize this enough: please continue to show your love and support by sending UPLIFTING messages of encouragement, prayers, and well wishes.
